and the time went by…

12 09 2011

We often don’t realize the pace our lives move on with, exception for a rainy night or a silent dawn. Thing change, friendships turn to acquaintances; or a mere ‘thank you’ favor-terms; we live and let live; we go and let go!

Starting the blog was more of a passion about year ago. Inspired by Irnustian.com; and more about owning a place to speak out; humkhayal came into existence. Things were different then; they are different now! Success had a different definition, terms had different criteria, passions were not so passionate. The grip on life was perfect, but on its players not so well. Distractions were less distracting and mind never got tempted by “the body pump”. Was it fun? or is it the real adventure?

With going low on a profile but higher on many others, stagnant on a few and confused on the one which is most important for a normal being! But hold on, when was I one! Never…. Since the school age the boy was different, not like the usual lot of his class, not with the similar interests his ‘co-actors’  had; and the difference kept on growing wider and wider. And then came up the social media, the much famous “eff-book” .  Things got weird at times and less on occasions!  But it never got normal and the time went by…

Weird

12 05 2011

I’m weird! A complex composite of moods and reactions that happens to be contradicting and contrasting! I’m the gin… crazy… workaholic… mad… everything a normal being is not! And I don’t differ with the opinion much but the perspective! Yes! The entire way how u look at me decides the person I’m. My position is not judged by the actions I do but the reaction u give. The ball was never in my court, the ball never is.

This was not me! I was lively… I was happy… I was fun. I was the one I do not reflect anymore. I do not blame the state I went through or the eventful life I had, but my own choices of response to each situation I was pushed in to, each challenge that was thrown at me and each chapter of that I closed myself. I don’t regret but cherish these options that I decided my fate myself! Not everyone is lucky enough to make his own ways work!

Tommy Tale…

Funny it is how we start with something as a casual response; someday gets so important that it encircles our lifestyle. We never know when our responses turn to addiction and the reason we do things that way! Whole of my childhood I had been eating a particular ice cream flavor, which the every other person I met, never thought tasting, and one day all of a sudden in an ice cream parlor of this confused city I found the person next to me ordering it. I felt glad! I found a company! And yes this had been something I were looking whole of my childhood. Someone to accompany me with the same ice cream flavor!

This might be silly but this is how we behave in our lifestyles. We enter a a new a class, new office, a task with a different aim. In order to make the journey comfortable we socialize. With passing time, these acquaintances turn to friendships, and then to relations. One or the other form of a company! A friend, a mate, a companion or a brother!

I have always been very fond of me being a social *animal*!  (not because my dearest friends call me tommy =p) I enjoy interacting, understanding, compromising with people and getting misunderstood, loved and appreciated in return – a mix of all sentiments I enjoy. These respond me in a way that I don’t blame, I don’t claim! I rather relax and wait for the return. And never have I been disappointed with this approach.

Dedicated to a friend who needs to read and realize 🙂

31 10 2010

Rich are the societies where both the genders contribute through a difficult past and in challenging present, towards a better future. Pakistan has been much richer in feminine contribution towards social progress. Be it politics, social work, education, literature, bureaucracy, music or daily life. Pakistan owes several distinctions with women in leading roles outside their homes, through their achievements and recognition. The post is a tribute to feminine efforts towards a social change. These notable women have a long list to share, but three of them are cited here:

10 reasons i don’t go for relationships

25 10 2010

May be a real come back after two months n ten days. Talking to a  high school junior and seeing her situation in to what world calls “relationships”, reminds me of this topic and 10 excuses which make me run away from them:

  1. Possessiveness: Things are great till you are friends but they disappear when u start labeling it “A RELATION”. Most sagas start and end here. Sad! huhh! 😛
  2. Freedom: I value my freedom! My life, my way! I want it to continue as long as it could!
  3. Time: Ok fine! do you got really that time to think and text your U-KNOW-WHO! Sorry i don’t! I have a long list of  to-be-done things.
  4. Formalities: I like things the way they are. not they way someone expects them to be! Why be what we are not? Why do things special way?
  5. Dialogues: Ok yes! I’m not good at it! I can’t say 3 words in a variety of ways! Deal with it 😛
  6. My Mom: I know my supreme court got no second appeal! So better do out of court settlements.
  7. My Dad: “Better options are always there and we can see them better than you do” 😀 I love u dad 🙂
  8. Memories: Oh yes! The crappiest things about it! even if you r out of it, your r never out of your past! there are reminders all life.
  9. After Effects: Once it ends, things are never the same! You are never friends and there’s a long silence and complete absence.
  10. A Quote: “You can’t get anything except for getting hurt”

Old is Gold

2 10 2010

With outburst of private channels and lacking of creativity and true depiction of society, we have started recalling old good times of one angle camera and and one channel screen. Much missed are PTV transmissions and scripts adorned by wonderful acting, perfect direction and amazing lyricist and great singers. Here is a title song of a PTV classic! No doubt… old IS gold!

Faraz’s Poem

25 08 2010
