Approaching Work

12 08 2012

Here comes my way of dealing with new things, I hope it will be helpful:

1.       Finding Motivation

To ensure that you make the most of your capabilities, you need to find some real life motivation to do that specific job. Without being motivated, you cannot ensure 100 % success. If you are a leader, you have to find motivation for others too. A very interesting process; you would certainly enjoy.

2.       Objective

Many of us miss this very fact that before we take the first step for any of our initiative, we should know the reason for it. Without specific objective, we cannot ensure our plans to have a focus, our vision to approach the right direction and our success to meet our efforts. Everything write, is always black and white.

3.       Research

Hardly will you come up with something that’s not inspired by something else or aka copied in simple terms. Therefore, since someone has already done this, why not benefit from his/her experience. Go search out what the Google has stored in for you and add more of your personal imagination to the foundation you find up on the internet waves.

4.       Imagining

You are not the best man or woman unless you can dream with your eyes open and turn them into reality. That’s what Abdul Kalam said about entrepreneurs and that’s what you can practice at a perfect student organization.

5.       Everything Right? Black and White

Speaking from experience, only a plan written and shared well is practiced well. You need to write your work distribution, plan of action, flow charts, responsibility distributions and deadlines at least once by hand and then feed it up in to computer. This will help you identify if you missed anything.

6.       Speaking Numbers not Adjectives

Engineers, scientists, business people…. For heaven’s sake speak with facts and figures and not adjectives like “heavy”, “huge”, “great”. The other person there is expecting you to come up with complete estimates and quantities, don’t talk up in the air. When you speak, you should have a justification and calculation to stand along your words.

7.       Sharing and Discussion

Discussion helps you unveil the perspectives you couldn’t have bother much about but they are very important. You may decide the concentration of your discussion circles but it has to be around people with diverse energies and disputes. This helps you get one mind one direction edge like no other.

8.       Dividing and Ruling

It’s not about dividing people, it’s about dividing responsibility, delegating powers and entrusting authorities within your team. You alone cannot master the game unless and until you keep a few focuses to your head and all the rest to the better ones out there.

9.       Summarize or Elaborate

You should be smart enough to summarize long things and elaborate the short ones. To be an effective manager, this art will help you learn and earn a lot.

10.   Give Value, Be valued

You cannot win the game without winning the hearts of the people you are working with. This is important because the most successful people in this world had the most successful teams behind them. Don’t miss this fact.

10 Things I learnt from Broken Relationships

17 03 2012
  1. Expiry Date: Errr. Yes! Like all the good packaged items, most relationships do have an expiry date. Many are short lived while some continue to linger longer. The bitter or the better part is to enjoy what you got before it expires.
  2. They Matter: You say it or no but they DO matter but for a limited time! The drastic end does hampers your routine ranging from a few days to a few weeks and then you get back to stability again.
  3. U-turn: While moving along the road you realize that you ain’t on the right track and therefore you put your car on the other side of the highway and start moving back. So is the case when relationships are screwed. Things that used to value most are turn to least.
  4. Sad Smiley: O yes!!!! Even if you add “:D” to your Facebook status or your fake expressions to your awesome face; your heart doesn’t shift to anything other than a sad smiley and somewhere or the other you are expressing this equally well too.
  5. More ghazals, sad songs: Certainly living in the versatile society like we do, you got everything to mourn about anything. The depression, the ditches, and yes the bitches… there’s a ghazal for every mood you want 😉
  6. Forgive to Forget: Carrying things hard with you ain’t gonna be a better option. If you want to move ahead, you have to forgive whatever it was, whoever he was.
  7. What Ahead? Well… a very obvious question that would pop up to you mind. Certainly you’re gonna move but for a next few days, with more work and more tough routine trying to get over what happened to you.
  8. Don’t Regret: Regretting what has been done is bad and in my perspective not worth it too. You had a wonderful time together you shouldn’t devalue it this way. Either jump back in and fix the mess up or look forward to what’s lying ahead.
  9. NEXT: Well it goes like this; You are conducting interviews for hiring someone in your company. The applicant makes an entry, impresses you, you get engaged in a good conversation and then there is this end. Once he leaves you are going to call the “next” candidate. Getting what I mean?
  10. Tarzan ki Wapsi: This might seems funny but this is a true fact. All our emotions have a specific life span. They start, approach their peak and then move towards their end. And certainly good friends do return. Writing it from experience so do wish better for your part too!

Let Go…

1 11 2011

“It ain’t easy,” realized I seeing the face again on my friend list.

“But it has to go they way it is,” responded the other side of my mind.

Between the two poles, I was somewhere. Stranded, alone, confused. Which path to opt for and what choice to decide for. It wasn’t obvious few time back. We used to be friends. Good friends may be… No one could imagine things would turn this way that we won’t even be left to speaking terms. And then there was “must to happen” mistake. Whatever you name it was done and nothing could be done to improve things except to ignore it. But the option wasn’t available. But when did I ignore stuff with others when I could… not at least in the first place. So expecting this from others would be unfair, unrealistic and unexpected.

Left with no other options, what my mind could perceive the “let go” policy. This means more work? more hectic schedule? more occupied me? I know I can’t afford much at this stage. To get free of these thoughts all i need is a distraction and to be distracted I’m going home. Back to my place, my people!  Ten days! Peace 😀

and the time went by…

12 09 2011

We often don’t realize the pace our lives move on with, exception for a rainy night or a silent dawn. Thing change, friendships turn to acquaintances; or a mere ‘thank you’ favor-terms; we live and let live; we go and let go!

Starting the blog was more of a passion about year ago. Inspired by Irnustian.com; and more about owning a place to speak out; humkhayal came into existence. Things were different then; they are different now! Success had a different definition, terms had different criteria, passions were not so passionate. The grip on life was perfect, but on its players not so well. Distractions were less distracting and mind never got tempted by “the body pump”. Was it fun? or is it the real adventure?

With going low on a profile but higher on many others, stagnant on a few and confused on the one which is most important for a normal being! But hold on, when was I one! Never…. Since the school age the boy was different, not like the usual lot of his class, not with the similar interests his ‘co-actors’  had; and the difference kept on growing wider and wider. And then came up the social media, the much famous “eff-book” .  Things got weird at times and less on occasions!  But it never got normal and the time went by…

Weird

12 05 2011

I’m weird! A complex composite of moods and reactions that happens to be contradicting and contrasting! I’m the gin… crazy… workaholic… mad… everything a normal being is not! And I don’t differ with the opinion much but the perspective! Yes! The entire way how u look at me decides the person I’m. My position is not judged by the actions I do but the reaction u give. The ball was never in my court, the ball never is.

This was not me! I was lively… I was happy… I was fun. I was the one I do not reflect anymore. I do not blame the state I went through or the eventful life I had, but my own choices of response to each situation I was pushed in to, each challenge that was thrown at me and each chapter of that I closed myself. I don’t regret but cherish these options that I decided my fate myself! Not everyone is lucky enough to make his own ways work!

Tommy Tale…

11 04 2011

Funny it is how we start with something as a casual response; someday gets so important that it encircles our lifestyle. We never know when our responses turn to addiction and the reason we do things that way! Whole of my childhood I had been eating a particular ice cream flavor, which the every other person I met, never thought tasting, and one day all of a sudden in an ice cream parlor of this confused city I found the person next to me ordering it. I felt glad! I found a company! And yes this had been something I were looking whole of my childhood. Someone to accompany me with the same ice cream flavor!

This might be silly but this is how we behave in our lifestyles. We enter a a new a class, new office, a task with a different aim. In order to make the journey comfortable we socialize. With passing time, these acquaintances turn to friendships, and then to relations. One or the other form of a company! A friend, a mate, a companion or a brother!

I have always been very fond of me being a social *animal*!  (not because my dearest friends call me tommy =p) I enjoy interacting, understanding, compromising with people and getting misunderstood, loved and appreciated in return – a mix of all sentiments I enjoy. These respond me in a way that I don’t blame, I don’t claim! I rather relax and wait for the return. And never have I been disappointed with this approach.

Dedicated to a friend who needs to read and realize 🙂

No tax no smile!

27 11 2010

Through the journey of taxes from sales to general sales and then to much debated reformed general sales, we realize there are still many things in life for which we don’t pay for!  We still have few assets which do not have to be shown in our bank statements, neither do we get any fees charged for them through electricity bills like PTV.

But the new world order of relations and returns, wants things to be other way round. The stars on sky want you to compensate or quit. Financial experts want you to either stand in queue for tax submission at revenue office, where a sign board says: “No tax, no smile” or sleep!
